Step by Step Basketball (SBS Basketball) is Australia’s own exclusive gateway to USA invitational camps, AAU basketball tournaments and College programs.  SBS Basketball endeavor’s to develop, nurture and deliver.  Our camps and tours are solely focused on USA style of play, unlike any other in Australia.  The Director of Coaching Shawn Sykes has extensive background in competitive basketball, both at the United States College and professional level.  Along with a direct connection to current NBA trainers, past and present NBA players, boys and Girls College coaches, college recruiters and Directors of major USA recruiting camps.

AAU Basketball is drastically different to Representative Basketball.   Different rules! Different style of play!  It is free flowing and non-robotic.  We cannot expect players to compete in the USA without implementation of the correct pathway.  The USA style of play is faster and more enjoyable to play and to watch.  SBS Basketball specifically focuses on the development and promotion of your unique individual strengths which will enable you to stand out from the rest while understanding how to play this fast paced style of team basketball.

SBS Basketball offers direct access to an Elite Performance Sports Scientist and associated professionals.  Basketball is a team sport characterized by high intensity activities such as jumping, sprinting, shuffling and direction changes.  Strength training is a fundamental element for the physical conditioning of basketball players.  The purpose of SBS Basketball’s Elite Performance Sports professional team is to help improve a player’s explosive power and acceleration/speed around the court and to reduce the risk of joint and tendon injuries.  During the camp season, resistance training and power training are offered to capitalize on individual and team development plans as well as optimize the improvement of each player.

Female athletes who have an excellent basketball skill set are highly sought after for USA college programs.  SBS Basketball prioritizes training of girls’ basketball players.  SBS Magic is planning to take a girls team to play in front of 400+ coaches during the live periods of recruiting in 2019.

All major camp scrimmages are professionally filmed and shared with our aligned USA Camp Directors.  Player highlights are available to build the essential playlist for recruiters and coaches to view.  All Team SBS Magic Overseas Tours are professionally filmed and are made available for players to review and access to create highlight footage.
